Beachfront
Lodge in Kenai, Alaska is located overlooking one fo the most specatcular
views in the Kenai and Soldotna area. On most days
you can see where the Alaska Range meets the Aleutian Chain and where
the 4,000,000 acre Lake Clark National Park and Preserve meet the Cook
Inlet. Stunning views of mountains, three active volcanoes
and the northern most point of the Ring of Fire, Mt. Illiamna (10,016
feet), Mt. Redoubt (10,197 feet) and Mt. Spur (11,070 feet.) Rise
abouve the Cook Inlet.
On
low tides, you can see tidal flats where eagles and thousands of sea
birds feed on hooligan and other varieties of
sea life. In June and July, hundreds of thousands of salmon including
kings, sockeyes, chums, pinks and silvers are gathering here at the
mouth
of the world famous Kenai River, before their annual migration up the
river to spawn. Moose are frequently seen on the property browsing
on willows. Seals and beluga whales can sometimes be seen out on the
inlet. Sit and watch the locals dip nets for red salmon at the mouth
of the Kenai. You can also watch native Kenaitze indian tribes set
their salmon nets on the beach.
We can set you up with horseback riding on the beach,
or feel free to stroll the shoreline for beachcombing. It is only a
short walk to the historic Kenai Landing where there is a small market
place featuring Alaskan crafts and artwork, a restaurant and theatre.
We are located ten minutes from the town of Kenai
and fifteen minutes from the town of Soldotna. We provide a complete
fishing guide service (Sutton's Sport Fishing) on the Kenai and Kasilof
Rivers. Drift or powered boats fully outfitted by
U.S. Coast Guard-Licensed Guides. Fully insured. We target Kings, Sockeyes,
Silvers and Rainbow Trout.
We can also organize halibut charters, fly out fishing
trips, bear viewing, white water rafting, kayaking, pack trips, photo
workshops year-round, glacier and sightseeing tours. We can provide
any information needed for your Alaska adventure.
